VOLCOM SURF HAPPENING 2024-25

After a banging main event earlier this year in epic conditions, Volcom is back with its contest series for the youth, combining a PanEuropean digital qualifier (July 1st – August 31st 2024), and a main event with a 4000€ prize purse this Winter in Sagres in February (location and date TBC).

Volcom Surf Happening provides a fun platform for competing surfers from all over Europe to showcase their skills. 


The qualifying process, making it easy for surfers to enter, will once again showcase top action from this summer, and will decide the main event competitors.


Qualified surfers will then battle it out in Sagres (TBC) out on an original and modern format with tons of prizes and 4000€ of prize money to split in between women’s and men’s divisions.


The series are open to European surfers (girls & boys) 16 years old and under when qualifiers resume (born after August 31st 2007).

QUALIFIER

How to Enter:

  • Fill the registration form.
  • Submit your best wave and best maneuver of the summer through an Instagram post.
  • Include the date the wave was surfed, the location, and contest tags: #VolcomSurfHappening & @volcomhappening
  • The wave must be filmed in Europe during this summer.
  • Competitors can submit as many posts as they want.

Submission period: July 1st 2024 to August 31st 2024

Requirements:

  • Competitors must be born after August 31st 2007.
  • A parent or guardian must sign up online for competitors, accepting the rules and conditions.

Judging:

  • All entries will be judged after the submission deadline in September 2024.
  • The top 20 women and top 20 men will qualify for the main event, plus an alternate list.

MAIN EVENT

Location: Sagres, Portugal (To be confirmed)

Date: February 22, 2025 (To be confirmed)

Event Highlights:

  • Prize Purse: €4,000 + tons of prizes from Volcom and sponsors.
  • Lunch & dinner provided, and side activities throughout the weekend.
  • Hangout with the Volcom Surf Team.

Competition Format:

  • Each competitor will surf three 20-minute heats with 4 competitors each.
  • All heats will be filmed and scored by Volcom Team Riders and seasoned judges.

Challenges:

  1. Best Wave of the event (each division):
    • 1st Place: €800
    • 2nd Place: €400
    • 3rd Place: €200
  2. Best Maneuver of the event (each division):
    • 1st Place: €300
    • 2nd Place: €200
    • 3rd Place: €100
